Elton John has spent many years in the public eye, so it’s no surprise he has stories to tell. Many older celebrities hold secrets from the unpredictable world of showbiz. Over time, these revelations often come to light.
Some celebrities, however, reach a different level of fame. Elton John is in that category, which is why his memoir Me attracted attention.
In Me, Elton shares many stories, including his thoughts on Michael Jackson. He recalls meeting Jackson as a boy and describes how he changed over the years, not in positive ways.

“I’d known Michael since he was 13 or 14,” Elton wrote. “He was just the most adorable kid you could imagine. However, at some point in the intervening years, he started secluding himself from the world, much like Elvis Presley.”
Elton believed that Jackson’s transformation was likely due to prolonged prescription drug use.
“God knows what was happening in his mind,” Elton continued. “Furthermore, every time I saw him in his later years, I felt he had completely lost touch with reality.”
He added: “I don’t mean this lightly. Jackson was genuinely mentally ill, which made him difficult to be around.”
Jackson later became embroiled in media controversy after being accused of abuse. Even now, his name remains associated with this dark chapter.
Regarding those rumors, John said: “For some reason, he couldn’t handle adult company at all.”
